Kyle Hallongren

Founder/Lead Instructor

Kyle is the founder and Lead Instructor of Trailside Training, bringing a deep passion for wilderness medicine and hands-on experience to every course he teaches. He is a Nationally Registered EMT and Wilderness EMT, certified through both NOLS and SurvivalMed, and holds certifications in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support and Search and Rescue from the University of Utah School of Medicine. As a certified Field Instructor with SurvivalMed, Kyle blends real-world knowledge with dynamic, practical instruction. With over seven years of experience as a Search and Rescue Technician and additional current service as a Disaster Health Services Team Member with the American Red Cross, he offers students an authentic perspective on emergency response in remote environments. Kyle is also pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Adventure Education from Prescott College, further enhancing his expertise in outdoor leadership and experiential learning.
