Terms Of Use

Online Course Access

Hybrid Wilderness First Aid (HWFA) – Online Course Access

The online portion of the HWFA course is hosted through SurvivalMed’s Learning Management System. Upon enrollment, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access and begin your online modules.

All online modules must be fully completed before the start of the in-person training. Failure to complete the online coursework by the deadline will result in removal from the course without a refund.

Refund Policy

Hybrid Wilderness First Aid (HWFA) Refund Policy

Cancellations made at least one week prior to the in-person course start date are eligible for a partial refund, minus a $100 cancellation fee.

Cancellations made less than one week before the course are non-refundable.

Participants who do not complete the required online coursework before the in-person session will be dropped from the course and no refund will be issued.

Specific deadlines for cancellation will be communicated via email once you have enrolled in a course. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Course Completion

Hybrid Wilderness First Aid (HWFA) – Course Completion Policy

To successfully complete the HWFA course, participants must:

  • Complete all online modules through the SurvivalMed Learning Management System prior to the in-person training date.
  • Attend the full in-person session and actively participate in all practical skill evaluations.
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of the course material, as determined by Trailside Training instructors.

Skill evaluations are conducted at the discretion of the instructors. Participants who do not meet the required standards may be removed from the course. In some cases, participants who do not pass the skills evaluation may be eligible for remedial instruction, but this is not guaranteed and must be discussed directly with the instructor. The decision to offer remedial training is solely at the instructor’s discretion.

Upon successful completion of all course components and submission of required skills assessments, participants will receive a SurvivalMed Wilderness First Aid Certification, co-signed by Trailside Training instructors. Certificates will be available on the My Certificates page via the SurvivalMed Learning Management System.
